Wildlife photography is both hard and can be boring also. If a shot requires me to walk out into the everglades swamp to get it then, it's out into the swamp I go. Sometimes I have had to wait on a bird, a crocodile or a 'gator to move or do something other than sleep. I recall several times that I have waited all day long for a bird to show up and it never did. In a nutshell, that's the life of as wildlife photographer! Sometimes I think back about having a studeo with the proper lights and strobes but, that's just not me. I truly enjoy being outside, in the woods or the swamp and depending only on the sun or my flash for my light. It can be a dirty nasty job and sometimes a little dangerous but, I wouldn't have it any other way.
I have always thought that we wildlife photographers get the short end of the stick when it comes to the sale of our photographs but, I also understand there is only a market for just so much nature. I chose wildlife photography and I am happy living with it.
